Abstract submission


 The Whole Grain Summit intends to seek ideas and ways to translate the available scientific and technological knowledge into application, resulting into an increase in availability of affordable and acceptable whole grain products in a diversity of markets.  In addition to the oral presentation sessions, there will be interactive sessions and a panel discussion to provide a multidisciplenary approach.


Abstracts of original research for presentation as oral (max 1/expert) or poster (max 3/expert) presentations will be accepted at this unique international event. We kindly ask all abstract submitters to provide a brief explanation about how your work is relevant for (a global) application.


All submitted abstracts shall be within the overall  scope of the WGS 2021, whereby the mentioned topics there shall only give an indication about desired content.

Oral Abstracts: 31.07.2021 

Poster Abstracts: 04.10.2021 

Final poster file: 11.10.2021

 * Please note, that you'll be asked to register first before you can submit your abstract(s)! In case of later payment this shall be due at the latest forteen days of the date of abstract approval as otherwise your presentation/poster cannot be included in the Conference Programme.



The official journal of ICC, The Journal of Cereal Science will be sponsoring 2 ICC BEST POSTER AWARDS for innovative or exceptional work in whole grain cereals and pseudocereals research. The awardees will be selected from the poster submissions. This support will be in the form of two awards of EUR 500 each for student or postdoctoral researchers and is aiming at encouraging whole grain cereals and pseudocereals research which can be transferred into application.


An independent jury including industry representatives will examine posters presented during the congress and will select the awardees.


The awards will be presented during the Poster Presentation & Awarding Session of the Online WGS2021.
