ICC mourns the death of Martha Cuniberti (Argentina)

With deep sorrow and regret the ICC family has learnt that Dra. Martha Cuniberti (INTA, Argentina) passed away on 18 July 2024. We express our sincere condolences to her family, friends and relatives.

With her passing the international cereal science has lost an impressive and extraordinary personality. Martha has dedicated her scientific career to researching and implementing key quality parameters in wheat and soybeans. She has shared her extensive and important findings in numerous publications and at many international events.

Her commitment was of great importance internationally and the ICC would like to thank her for her dedicated and consistent commitment to networking, international exchange and mutual understanding in the field of grain quality and far beyond.  As ICC Region Representative, Martha Cuniberti was instrumental in the successful establishment of the ICC Region South America.

Dra. Cuniberti has been ICC National Delegate of Argentina and ICC Executive Committee member from 2000 - 2018 and thus has played a very important role in our nearly 70 years old organization.

In 2008 Dra. Cuniberti has been awarded the Friedrich Schweitzer Medal for her distinguished service in the furtherance of the aims and ideals of ICC.

She has received the Fellowship of the ICC Academy the year before, in 2007.

Martha Cuniberti will forever hold an extraordinary place in the ICC and will be gratefully remembered by people and in the cereal world.
